An absolutely wild plot, very dark elements, and a main character you'll both love and hate in the same chapter. There's romance underneath all the darkness, but this book doesn't pull punches. Something in it is genuinely addictive, like a reality TV show you can't stop watching. The mysteries set up early won't resolve until almost the end—it's a slow burn by design. You'll want to immediately start the next in the series.
