StandaloneBritt's take
The first line of the book is "I've been betrayed by a pasta carbonara"—and if that lands for you, you're in good hands. Raw, real, and genuinely hard to put down. Bennet's internal voice feels like someone finally wrote down the messy, honest experience of carrying loss while slowly letting someone in. Henry is the kind of love interest you fall for right alongside her. The cast around them has real depth, and I found myself laughing, tearing up, and rooting for all of them. The emotional payoff is there and it earns every bit of it.
