Immersive, tense, and impossible to put down once it hooks you. Where a lot of sci-fi asks you to suspend disbelief, this one stays grounded—flawed humans trying to survive terrible circumstances. The world-building pulls you in without overwhelming you, and the payoff is deeply satisfying. A good set up to the rest of the series.
