Part investigative journalism, part memoir, this follows McNamara’s relentless pursuit of the Golden State Killer through police files, witness interviews, and online communities. The title comes from a quote by the killer himself—chilling doesn’t cover it. McNamara is credited with helping keep the case in the public eye before his arrest in 2018, though she didn’t live to see it.
