Sophie, cursed into old age by a wicked witch, ends up taking refuge in the infamous moving castle of the wizard Howl. The kind of book where you settle in rather than race through—warm, surprising, and quietly enchanting. Sophie and Howl are both flawed in ways that make you root for them anyway, and the plot goes places you won’t predict. The journey is real. The landing is worth it.
